No Day At The Beach PDF Print E-mail

It's that time of year again.   Time to plan for summer the vacation where we spend all day, every day, with our school aged children.   Or, as I otherwise call it--one of the stages of hell.

I was reminiscing with an old high school friend of mine today, and we brought up stories that were best left unremembered. Natalie was my best friend in high school, although we couldn't have been more different.

She was into biker bad boys that wore torn jeans and leather jackets, skipped classes regularly, and smoked.   I, on the other hand, liked the boys that did their homework, wore sweaters and glasses, and never, ever thought about breaking the rules.

We were the perfect pair.

Spider Gal PDF Print E-mail

I love being a woman.  Nothing makes me feel more feminine than red lipstick and a dab of perfume.  What I don't love, however, is how I manage to go from a model woman to a cartoon character standing on a chair and hiking up my skirt at the sight of a spider.   I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that I have a bit of a phobia when it comes to spiders.   That is, if you call feeling that spiders are plotting on taking over the world with the ferocity and organizational skills of Hitler's Army, a 'bit of a phobia.'

"I have learned that some women will do justabout anything to please their man, as long as they're not married tothem.   My boyfriend of seven months has never seen me without lipstickor matching underwear, but honestly, how long can I keep that up?   Thatisn't even the hard part. When Dan says,  "Hey, Honey, let's go for a 10 mile bike ride today."   The inner voice inside my head struggles to gain control of my vocalcords before I can blurt out "Okay, Sweetheart.   That sounds fun.
