Autumn Reflections
Written by Hildi Borkowski

Finally, a picture of New Jersey!  This was taken in Ringwood, New Jersey,
at the Ringwood Manor.  Actually, the grounds and manor house were left to
the State from a rather wealthy family, and is now a State Park.  Can you
just imagine looking out over this vista while drinking your morning coffee?

Twin Anchors
Written by Hildi Borkowski

This picture invokes a lot of questions for me.   Why are there two rather
sizable anchors so close to each other and so close to shore?  What boat
could possibly be so large that it needed two anchors--yet in such shallow
water?   This picture is full of contradiction for me.   However, it holds a
beauty all its own.

The Bridge Has Eyes
Written by Hildi Borkowski
Monday, 07 September 2009 11:30

Hello My Friends,

This is a bridge that spans the Cocheco River in Rochester, New Hampshire.

The water is crystal clear, as is mostly the case in New England.   It  was so

calm, it mirrored the arches of the bridge in a way I just could not resist.

There is a small park with a gazebo and a short walkway just across the

street which provides an excellent view.   Can you just imagine all the lovers

sneaking a kiss near these eyes on balmy summer nights?   I'm quite sure

these eyes have seen it all!

Where's the Catch?

Hello All!   Is there nothing more upsetting than a fisherman coming in with
no fish?   To be honest, I don't know that this is the case here, but from
what I can tell, the pickin's were pretty slim.   It was raining the day I
took this.  Peg and I were walking around along the coast of Maine.   We
decided to take a bit of a side trip inland and came across this quaint
little place protected from the ocean and coastal winds.   It was between
raindrops and some of the boats were coming back from their journey.   Low
tide and rain don't seem to go together, but, as you can see, it happened!

Low Tide

Low Tide

Hello again!  I am sure you all have heard of the "back alley".   Well, I
guess in Kennebunkport, Maine, this is as close as you will get.   These
stores and restaurants are built right on the pier.   To be honest, I forgot
what river this is, but the tide was obviously low.   It was taken at about
2:30 on an overcast day in late July.   Peg and I went looking for a place to
have a quick bite for lunch and came across this lovely little alcove.   We
did not get lunch, but the picture was worth the effort!
