Fences

Greetings, Mon Amis!

This beautiful beach, once abuzz with bathers, is now deserted--kind of sad to leave
such beauty unattended.   I took this in October of 2006 while visiting a
friend who has a house on the island.   This is Fire Island, off the coast of
Long Island in New York.   The only way to get there is by ferry.   Very few
people live on this island all year round, but in the summer?   It is quite the
vacation place!   No cars are allowed on the island, except the
ones
maintenance people use.

Greetings, My Friends!

I took this on Fire Island, New York.   The sky was threatening rain, and I thought
I would take a walk along the pier--just to peak.   I came across these
little guys and just had to capture the moment.
As a side note, they left
just as I lowered the camera...I was lucky!

Fire Island Road

This is Fire Island.  All of the 'roads' look like this.  Bamboo grows wild, and
when the wind blows, you hear a melody that only nature can provide. This
'road' is only a few feet wide, just enough for a couple to walk comfortably.

Hi All,

Nothing says "Autumn" like a beautiful orange and yellow flower, well to me
anyway.   This one I took in New Hampshire outside of a very little, one room
church on the side of a country road.   The church was painted all white with
a steeple and bell--very quaint.   It shouted "NEW ENGLAND"!!   This sunny
little flower was just smiling away in a small garden surrounded by a white
picket fence in front of the church.

Lilies at Winnipesaukee

Greetings from the great Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.  So much
happens on this huge lake.  I'm sure I have more shots of the other areas,
but this one was a kind of oasis, so to speak.  All the activity, the boats,
jet skis, ducks, swimmers--all of this did not disturb this flower from
growing close to shore.  It managed to find a quiet little spot to grow and
flourish.  Nature sure is remarkable, no?
