Bull's Eye
Written by Hildi Borkowski

Greetings!

I hope your aim is good!   This ice formation reminded me of an archery class
I took as a child at camp.   I can remember it clearly.   I was nine years
old.   My best friend, Joanne, and I were at the same camp for the two weeks
during the summer.   We shared everything.   We were in the same cabin,
ironically called "Cabin 9".   One sunny afternoon after our swimming lesson
in the lake, we had an archery class.   I remember being so clumsy with the
bow and arrow....I missed the mark by miles.   If only that target had been
bigger...

More later,

h

Art In Nature
Written by Hildi Borkowski
Tuesday, 12 January 2010 15:36

Hello Again....

Nature creates the best stuff!   This can't be duplicated by human hands.  I
was walking in a nature preserve just after a cold snap - camera in hand -
and happened on this frozen creek.   I must say, I had a field day (pun
intended)!  There are so many opportunities to enlighten  your soul in the
winter, all you have to do is look for them.  They are always there, free
for the taking.   I wanted to share this with you all because it gave me joy.

I am quite sure this area has thawed and refrozen several times since I took
this.   I must go back!

On The Lift To The Top
Written by Hildi Borkowski

Hello My Friends,

I took this picture from the gondola type lift that takes people up to the
very top of the Alps.    We were lucky to have such a clear day.

Dresden By Elbe
Written by Hildi Borkowski

Hello All!

This is the old part of Dresden.   To the right is the Elbe.   Unfortunately,
95% of this city had been destroyed by bombs during WWII.   The country
painstakingly reconstructed many of the buildings to the original
architectural plans, mostly using the original stones.   The darker stones
are the original ones that had been charred by the fires; the lighter ones are
new and made to the original plans.   Where the plans were unavailable for
whatever reason, the people followed photos and reconstructed from those.
Really, this is a remarkable place.   Some parts of the city were rebuilt
using new architecture, and looks very modern.

More later...

The Brandenberg Gate, Berlin
Written by Hildi Borkowski

Hi!

This is the top of the Brandenberg Gate in Berlin.   A lot of history
happened under these horses!    What an incredible place.   Across the square
from here is a museum called the John F. Kennedy Museum.   One would think
that there would be a museum in honor of Ronald Regan since the Wall came
down during his administration, but...I digress
