A Dark & Drunken Tale PDF Print E-mail
Written by Angela Latoof Cagle
Friday, 27 June 2008 01:27

There are always lighter and darker areas of life.   This particular dark story happened during a lighter time in my life.   And it left a blemish on that otherwise carefree period.

This tale of 'Mr. Bergeron' and his lady was surreal.   You see, Mr. Bergeron was in his 60's, had a wife, a racialy segregated bar which came with a dividing wall, whispers of a mistress, a lot of money, and a drinking problem.

Patriotism At Its Almost Best PDF Print E-mail
Written by Angela Latoof Cagle

I can barely write this 2007 experience without tears coming to my eyes.   It was wholly the most patriotic moment in my life, and I wasn't even the patriot.   I was merely an on-looker.

We were in a church parking lot.  Along came a 55 or so buxom woman, cleavage from top to toots.   In fact, she looked like a toots.   So I'll call her 'Toots.'    And what was she doing dressed like that at church, anyway?   And what the heck was the window doing rolling down?   I know I had it on lock.   Not locked!   Window going down.

Being married is its own full time job.  It takes more than 40 hours a week, needs constant attention, and the ability to compromise.   If you are not a good compromiser, don't get married.

'Grieving Gorilla' Grieves Me PDF Print E-mail
Written by Angela Latoof Cagle

I don't have any idea why I am so compelled to read stories like the 'Grieving Gorilla.' It was so terribly sad.  It was about Gana, a gorilla, and her dead child, Claudio.   Gana refused to relinquish the corpse of her son, Claudio.   And what was just as sad?   Her other baby, a girl, born in 2007, was taken away to another zoo in 2008.   That means this poor mommy had lost two children in a year--or less.
