Every Day Miracles PDF Print E-mail

Dear Angie,

I wrote this a while back. I was hoping to place it in your I-mag in the near future.  Please forward it to your friend.  I believe she will appreciate it.

Like most people who pray, I had fallen into a routine.  I said basically the same thing for more years then I could remember.    I guess it is easy to forget to look up when you are walking through a cow pasture.   This made me feel guilty.   I was not giving my devotion the honest hope and thoughts they deserved.   My prayers had become as mundane as the life of an assembly line worker.   Putting the same part in the same place over and over, again and again.   No thought required.   I can honestly say that I was ashamed of myself.

I was in my bed one evening staring into the dark, thinking of all the troubles I had faced in recent time.   Many problems seem overwhelming as I faced them.   Yet, I had come through each one.   In some cases I was better then when I had started.

I am not vain enough to believe that I met (and beat) these challenges without a little help from upstairs… Okay, a lot of help from upstairs.   I admit that I thought long and hard that evening.   God knows what is in your heart.   He knows the trials you have been through.   Most importantly, he knows of your hopes and dreams.   Perhaps even better then you do.   Remember, He has been there with you.

How many things do you want to say thank you for in a day, not less in a lifetime.   Thinking of all the hard times you have survived is just the beginning.   What about the good times?   Who do you thank for them?   What about every day miracles?   Things like family and friends, sunsets, puppies, and pretty girls.   these are just a few things that come to mind.   How about little surprise like good memories stirred to the surface from an old song on the radio?   The list of everyday miracles is endless.

My heart is full with all of these things, yet my mouth is empty when it comes time to put all of this into words.   The words that did come to me seemed either to fall flat or false.  I troubled over this for some time.   Then, out of nowhere, came a peaceful feeling.   A long with the peaceful feeling came to me exactly what I wanted to say.   Here is my prayer.
Hello God,
I just wanted to say thank you!!
