Far be it from me to ever make anyone wonder what's on my mind. So, to be clear, I will tell you.

I feel so privledged to have the honor of being chosen to pay for the health care for so many illegal immigrants, the purposely unemployed, the undeserving criminals in our prisons, and the other blood sucking leaches on society I may have overlooked by name, that I may just join their ranks and get in line for as many entitlements as our leeches...er,...umm.., I mean, our LEADERS are willing to throw MY way. As we say here in New Orleans, "HEY!  THROW ME SOMETHING, MISTER!"

I'm sure everyone here has seen the news videos of the line of people waiting at the free health clinic day in the New Orleans Convention Center. When this National Health Care Bill passes, those lines will not only become become the standard, they will be worse. The big difference will be that you won't just be jockying for a place in line with uninsured citizens of the United States, you will also be vying for that spot with illegal immigrants. Do the math. The lines will be incrementally longer; the wait horrorific. Doesn't that sound and look like fun?

So, I've decided to get on the band wagon and think what I'm told to, say what is suggested, and act like a mindless fool for the betterment of....Oh. Never mind. I'm over it.

Can we say, "TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT", boys and girls?

I really don't think what's going on in this great country right now is exactly what our forefathers had in mind when they crafted the wonderful Constitution of the United States of America. As a matter of fact, I happen to know it wasn't. How do I know what those men were thinking over 200 years ago? I know because they told us.

Thomas Jefferson is quoted as saying, "I sincerely believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs."

"Ooooh say can you see".....the end of capitalism? I can and I do.

You know, I miss President Bush. I never thought I would, but then, I never thought I'd move to a socialist country, either. Oh. Yeah. That's right. I didn't.

And does anyone out there remember the First Amendment? I do. The theory has worked in practice. Now, I begin to wonder if, one day, people will ask that same question i just posed, and the question will be answered with a confused look. 'Freedom of Speech' has become more of a 'term' than a 'practice'.

I hope our children's children can forgive us our tresspasses.

Happy reading to all, and to all a bankrupt night.

To all of you who have been offended by my thoughts, feelings, opinions and means of expression, all I can tell you is to 'get off of my cloud' and just leave a nasty comment.   I may not like what you have to say, but i'll defend your right to say it.

my mother always said that parents should not have more children than they could afford AND educate. i agree. no government hand-outs or entitlements expected there!! we worked, saved, made responsible choices, and did not spend what we could not afford. in other words, we took care to be good citizens, managed our finances, and lived within our means, and never, ever attempted to scam the government or anyone else. i recommend that philosophy to ALL people.

OK Ms Liz...it appears that two of those hyphenated Americans never learned about birth control, thus have been responsible with burdening the USA with over population. Miz Liz, there is also a huge cultural difference between these two aforementioned hyphenated people, & say the hyphenated German's of the Dakota's. Just imagine how Katrina hitting New Orleans would have played out, if that city was populated with 4/5 German's. Liz, your point is well taken, which is strongly backed up by the 1915 Hyphenated Americanism" speech by Theodore Roosevelt. His first sentence was "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism."
no such thing as 'hyphenated' american
elizebeth - 11-16-2009 09:29

you either are or you aren't. otherwise, we'd be french-americans, italian-americans, arab-americans, dutch-americans. no. we are ALL AMERICANS. those who wish, may remove the hyphen and the word 'american' behind it, and go back to whatever country is their first choice of personal 'identity-definition'. heck, we're already too burdened by over population. hyphenators are welcome to leave.

Hey Hatcher....I'm still piffed that newspapers, & other so called politically correct poops, refuse to allow me to use the word "Nigger," thus are usurping my Freedom of Speech - as well as my Freedom of the Press. I realize that we now have an African-American in the woodpile, who appears to have African-American rigged our whole nation. Good ole Mark Twain got off easy, when he utilized the word "nigger" 215 times in "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Further, the Houma Courier deleted my paragraph discussing the stoppage of the word "nigger," but not the word "honky." Wonder if we could use the word "jigger" instead? And what should we now call these censors with no guts? Check out Wikipedia for an interesting breakdown of this "breakdown" in our society.
